How do you cope with hair in winter? We all know winter is a tough time for hair, so today I’m sharing a few tips on how to manage it during this difficult period.

- The right headwear matters enormously. Be sure to choose one made from natural materials. This will allow the scalp to breathe properly and will prevent hair from becoming static.
- Anyone who paid attention in chemistry class knows that frozen water expands. At temperatures below zero, the water in the hair shaft freezes, which damages its structure and leaves hair weakened and brittle. That is why it’s so important for hair to be thoroughly dried before you head out or go to the pool. 🙂
- Proper home care is an important step. Air conditioning, low temperatures, rain or snow are not kind to hair. It becomes very dry and brittle. That is why, at least once a week, give it a deep moisturising treatment with a mask that will nourish your hair and smooth its structure.
- Struggling with static? Try so-called anti-frizz products, which help maintain the electrostatic balance of the hair, minimising the problem. Opt for an anti-static spray or hairspray.
- If your hair has no volume after taking off your hat, a mousse and dry shampoo can help. Apply the mousse to wet hair, then dry it while lifting firmly at the roots. Dry shampoo, on the other hand, quickly refreshes hair and lifts it at the roots. But remember! Using too much product has the opposite effect, so less is more.
- If you have long hair, opt for loose plaits and braids. This will reduce mechanical damage to the hair and stop it from tangling.
And what if your hair decides to make life as difficult as possible for you this winter?
Ask your hairdresser about the intensive moisturising and repair treatments available in the salon. One of these is keratin repair, which deeply rebuilds the hair and reduces frizz. Such care gives hair long-lasting protection against the negative effects of low temperatures.
