Using a scalp scrub brings many benefits. Above all, the product applied to the head removes dead skin from it, so we won’t have to struggle with dandruff or an itchy scalp. Remember that the scalp is home to many bacteria and mites that feed on dead skin. That is why it is worth removing them, so that they have no chance to multiply excessively on the head or on our pillow.

A scalp scrub oxygenates the skin well and stimulates microcirculation. This makes it easier and quicker for cosmetics to be absorbed into the scalp. It is worth bearing in mind that a nourished scalp also means nourished hair follicles, and the condition they are in determines whether the hair will be strong, shiny and healthy. A scalp scrub is also wonderfully relaxing and pleasant. The scalp is particularly richly supplied with nerves, which is why most people enjoy a scalp massage and relax during it.
A scalp scrub is recommended especially for people struggling with dandruff or seborrhoea; in such conditions, thorough cleansing of the scalp is advisable. Performing a home scrub and head massage improves circulation, which means hair will grow faster and its condition will improve. Scalp scrubs are not especially popular, but with regular treatments of this kind you will achieve excellent results.
Below are our top 3 scrubs:
Aloe Scrub
This scrub is recommended for everyone with rough, dry scalp and dandruff. Aloe has moisturising and regenerating properties. It works just as beneficially on the hair as on the scalp, and works wonderfully on the ends. To make this type of scrub, you will need: 4 tablespoons of pure aloe gel without pulp, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of coconut or almond oil. Combine all the ingredients to create a thick paste.
Olive Oil and Sea Salt Scrub
Olive oil has precious benefits for the skin as well as the hair. It nourishes and moisturises intensively. A scrub with added sea salt has a cleansing effect. To make the scrub you will need 2 tablespoons of sea salt, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Mix the ingredients thoroughly, then massage into wet hair. The hair should not be washed beforehand, only dampened. Focus on working the scrub thoroughly into the scalp for about 5 minutes, then wash the hair with shampoo. After this treatment there is no need to apply conditioner to the hair additionally.
Coffee Scrub
The caffeine in coffee stimulates hair follicles very effectively and encourages hair growth. This scrub is highly effective and quite strong. Coffee is successfully added to many care products and is a well-liked and valued cosmetic ingredient. It is worth knowing that this scrub gently darkens the hair, so it is not recommended for blondes. To prepare it you will need shampoo and 3 teaspoons of coffee grounds. Mix the ingredients to a paste, then apply it to the scalp, trying to avoid the hair. Once the product is spread, begin massaging the head. After 10 minutes, rinse the hair and wash it with shampoo.
