Every day we take care of our hair with home care – we exfoliate, nourish and moisturise. We care about its shine, healthy look and great condition. However, it’s important to remember that hair needs looking after at night too.
Many of us are unaware that the greatest damage to hair occurs while we sleep. It rubs against the pillow, tangles, gets crushed and breaks – as a result the hairstyle looks dishevelled in the morning and gets static during the day. Discover a few golden rules that will let your hair rest and regenerate overnight.
- NEVER GO TO BED WITH WET HAIR! Not damp or semi-damp either 🙂 Wet hair is very delicate, which makes it more susceptible to damage. So always make sure to dry your strands thoroughly, or squeeze them with a towel and let them dry naturally.
- BRUSH YOUR HAIR THOROUGHLY. The claim that brushing promotes hair loss is a myth. Only hair that was already weakened and due to fall out will come out. In fact, you will improve blood circulation and remove impurities. Just remember to brush dry strands. Always start from the ends, gradually working your way up.

- PLAIT YOUR HAIR IN A LOOSE BRAID and secure it with a hair tie or silk scrunchie. If you have short hair, a silk bonnet works very well.

- INVEST IN A SATIN OR SILK PILLOWCASE. These materials are the gentlest, which is why they are recommended for sleeping. It is also believed that they do not cause damage to hair.
- CARE FOR THE AIR QUALITY IN YOUR BEDROOM. Winter and the dry air associated with it have an adverse effect not only on the skin – they also dry out the hair. A humidifier is ideal, but you can also try a home remedy and hang wet towels on the radiator.
Introducing these few simple habits will show you positive results. Just remember to be consistent 🙂
